How Your Support Flows Through Venunye

We aim to keep overhead lean while caring well for the people and systems that make this work possible. Below is a simple example of how funds might be allocated in a year. You can replace these with your real percentages as you grow.

  • Program Impact: The majority of funds go directly into programs—education, feeding, widows, and community projects.
  • Healthy Operations: A smaller portion sustains coordination, communication, and basic admin so programs stay strong.
  • Future Growth: Some funds may support long-term capacity building, like farm projects or tools.
Real percentages will be shared in annual summaries and reports.
Sample Allocation

This is an example breakdown; change the numbers to match your actual finances:

Category Example % What This Supports
Programs & Direct Support 75% Education, feeding, widows, farms, community outreach.
Administration & Operations 15% Coordination, communication, basic admin, systems.
Fundraising & Awareness 10% Sharing the story, donor care, keeping supporters informed.

Your web designer can replace this table with a pie chart graphic using your Venunye colors.

Our Principles

What Transparency Means to Venunye

For us, transparency is not just about sharing documents—it’s about posture. We want supporters, partners, and communities in Ghana to feel seen, heard, and respected.

🧾

Clear Use of Funds

We share how funds are used in simple language. You don’t need to be an accountant to understand where your support is going.

  • Program vs admin breakdowns.
  • Project-specific updates where possible.
📣

Honest Storytelling

We share real stories without exaggeration. We celebrate progress and also acknowledge limitations and ongoing needs.

  • Dignity-first photos and words.
  • No “poverty tourism” or shock tactics.
🤝

Two-Way Accountability

We welcome questions from donors and feedback from communities in Ghana. Transparency flows in both directions.

  • Channels to ask questions.
  • Listening to local leaders & families.
Policies & Ethics

How We Protect People, Stories & Resources

Below are key areas where we seek to honour God, respect people, and handle resources with integrity. You can turn each block into its own policy page or downloadable PDF.

Financial Stewardship

Financial & Gift Policy

We handle donations with care, keeping clear internal records and using funds for the purposes they were given wherever possible.

  • Funds directed toward stated projects/programs.
  • Ability to redirect if a project is fully funded, with integrity.

Stories & Photos

Dignity & Storytelling Policy

We seek consent where possible, protect sensitive details, and avoid sharing images or stories that strip people of dignity.

  • No sharing of sensitive details without care.
  • Children and widows presented as whole, capable people—not projects.

Our Heart Behind Policies

“Policies are simply our promise written down. They help us remember who we want to be when no one is watching and when no one is clapping.”
— Venunye Foundation Team

You can expect our policies to grow and strengthen over time as we learn and listen to wise counsel.

Donor Transparency

How We Communicate with Supporters

We see donors, churches, and friends not as “funding sources” but as partners. Transparency is a way of honouring that partnership.

  • Clear Receipts: We send simple, timely receipts for gifts given through official channels.
  • Updates: We aim to share periodic updates—via email, social media, or reports—about how gifts are making a difference.
  • Questions Welcome: We invite donors to ask questions about programs, finances, or stories at any time.

What You Can Expect

“If you support Venunye, you should never feel in the dark. We may be small, but our door is open. We will do our best to show where your gifts are going.”
— Venunye

If you ever feel unsure or have questions, please reach out. We are honoured to explain and, where needed, to improve how we communicate.

FAQs

Questions About Our Transparency?

Here are common questions about how we handle finances, stories, and accountability. You can fine-tune these answers as your procedures become more specific.

Can I see how my specific gift was used?
In many cases, we can connect your gift to a specific program, project, or focus area (such as feeding or school support). For reasons of efficiency and fairness, we may group gifts together by project rather than track every individual gift separately, but we will always be honest about where funds are going.
Do you have external audits?
As we grow, we plan to move toward more formal external reviews and audits, in addition to internal record-keeping and accountability. We can share our current level of review upon request.
Why don’t you show more detailed photos or personal data?
We prioritize the privacy and dignity of children and widows. Sometimes that means sharing fewer details and images, even if it would make a “stronger” story online.
What happens if a project I gave to is fully funded?
If a project becomes fully funded or circumstances change, we may redirect excess funds to a closely related area of need. Our goal is always to honour your intent as closely as possible while serving real needs on the ground.
How can I raise a concern or complaint?
If you ever have concerns about how funds, stories, or relationships are being handled, please contact us through our official email or contact form. We take such feedback seriously and will respond with care.
Can I talk to someone directly?
Yes. If you prefer a phone or video conversation, mention this in your message, and we will do our best to arrange a time. We value real, human conversations.
