Venunye’s journey in nonprofit work began with direct involvement in the lives of children and families—not from a distant office.
Through years of helping care for vulnerable children, supporting their education and responding to family needs, he gained a practical understanding of how hardship affects every part of a person’s life.
He saw that a child’s ability to learn can be affected by hunger, instability and a lack of basic supplies. He also learned that supporting children requires attention to the parents, caregivers and communities surrounding them.
These experiences shaped a leadership approach centered on compassion, consistency, community knowledge and practical action. They also contributed to the vision behind Venunye Foundation.

Growing through service in Kpando
In 2006, Venunye became part of the work that established Ryvanz-Mia Childcare in Kpando, Ghana.
As co-founder and Program Director, he worked alongside Regina Esime Djentuh, known affectionately as Mama Esi, and others committed to providing care, education, nourishment and guidance for vulnerable children.
The work required more than organizing occasional assistance. It meant remaining present as children grew, helping them continue through school and preparing them for the responsibilities and opportunities of adulthood.
Over the years, more than 23 children who grew up through the Ryvanz-Mia experience reached adulthood and completed senior high school. Their journeys reinforced Venunye’s belief that consistent support can help change the direction of a life.

Why Venunye Foundation?
A wider response to connected challenges
Venunye Foundation grew from the understanding that helping a child often requires strengthening the family and community around that child.
Years of experience showed that education, nutrition and economic stability are closely connected. A child may have the ability and determination to learn but lack school materials. A family may need food assistance during a difficult period. A mother may have the desire to support her children but lack access to practical training or livelihood opportunities.
Venunye Foundation was created to respond to these connected needs through focused, community-centered programs. Its purpose is not to duplicate Ryvanz-Mia, but to carry forward lessons from years of service into a distinct Ghanaian nonprofit with a broader family and community focus.
