Our Story
Our story grew through years of caring for children and learning from families in Kpando. That experience continues to shape how we support education, nourishment and opportunity.
The work began with people
Before Venunye Foundation had its own name and programs, founder Venunye Djentuh was involved in caring for vulnerable children and supporting families through Ryvanz-Mia Childcare in Kpando.
Daily life with children taught a lasting lesson: education matters, but so do meals, safety, encouragement and adults who stay involved as children grow. Listening to families showed how much a child’s future depends on support at home and in the community.
A commitment that took root in 2006
Ryvanz-Mia Childcare began serving children in Kpando in 2006. Regina Esime Djentuh, known as Mama Esi, helped lead that care alongside Venunye Djentuh and others who gave their time and support.
As children moved through school and grew older, the team saw the value of steady relationships, learning and practical guidance. Those experiences helped inspire Venunye Foundation’s wider community focus.

Early learning became part of the journey
Work with children also contributed to Hope Memorial School in Kpando. Its early childhood focus reinforced how important it is for young learners to have patient teachers, useful materials, nourishment and a place where they feel encouraged.
That understanding continues to shape the Foundation’s education support.
Venunye Foundation begins its own chapter
Years of service showed that challenges affecting children are often connected to the pressures their families face. Venunye Foundation grew to address those connected needs through education support, FoodShare and Feeding, and women’s empowerment.
We aim to respond to what people need now while helping them build skills and opportunities for the future.
