Venunye Foundation’s story is shaped by years of learning alongside children and families in Kpando, Ghana—and by a growing commitment to education, nourishment, and opportunity.
Where Our Story Begins
Service came before the Foundation’s name.
Before Venunye Foundation developed its own identity, founder Venunye Djentuh was involved in supporting vulnerable children and families through Ryvanz-Mia Childcare in Kpando.
That work brought daily lessons about what children need to grow: consistent care, education, nourishment, encouragement, and people who believe in their future.
It also showed that a child’s well-being is closely connected to the stability of their family and community.
To understand a child’s needs, we must also listen to the family and community around them.
The Ryvanz-Mia Roots
A commitment to children took root in Kpando.
Ryvanz-Mia Childcare began in 2006 in Ghana’s Volta Region. Under the care and leadership of Regina Esime Djentuh, known as Mama Esi, and with the involvement of Venunye Djentuh and others, it became a place where vulnerable children could receive care, nourishment, educational support, and guidance.
Supporting children over time required patience and commitment. The experience helped shape a broader understanding of what it takes to help a child move from an immediate need toward a more secure future.

Learning helps children develop confidence, skills, and more choices for the future.
Preparation for Life
Guidance and practical opportunities matter as children grow toward adulthood.
Education and Hope
Early learning became part of the journey.
The experience of caring for children also contributed to Hope Memorial School in Kpando. Its focus on early childhood learning reinforced a lesson that continues to guide Venunye Foundation: education works best when the whole child receives support.
Learning materials, patient guidance, nourishment, and a caring environment can all help a young child begin with confidence.
A Wider Community Vision
Venunye Foundation begins its own chapter.
Years of child-centered work helped Venunye Djentuh see how strongly a child’s future can depend on the circumstances of the whole family. A child may lack school supplies. A household may struggle to provide enough food. A woman may want to earn a stable income but have limited access to training or resources.
Venunye Foundation grew from a desire to respond to those connected needs. As a Ghanaian nonprofit with its own mission, it focuses on education support, FoodShare and Feeding, and women’s empowerment.
Connected history, distinct organizations: Ryvanz-Mia Childcare and Venunye Foundation have different identities and roles. The earlier child care experience helped shape the Foundation’s community-focused approach.
